AMC Engineering's High Torque stroking (bucking/breakout) machine (HT) is a self contained, free standing hydraulically powered Bucking unit designed for fast and accurate make up and break out of threaded connections on drilling tools, well completion assemblies and other oilfield related equipment up to a maximum torque of 250,000ft lbs.

The machines consist of a fixed Headstock, capable of sizes from 2.3/8" - 48" diameter and a travelling Tailstock, again capable of sizes from 2.3/8"-48". The Tailstock can be provided with a hinged "Top opening" feature to assist with the loading of tools safely and efficiently.

Both heads feature hydraulically controlled clamp cylinders that can go from 48" down to 2.3/8" without the need to change jaws between sizes. This has proved to be beneficial both financially through the lack of "down time", and to safety, by eliminating the need to carry out the task of changing jaws.

The system works at a low working pressure. This eliminates the need for high pressure hoses and fittings, which in turn reduces costs to the customer. All our service parts are kept in stock at strategically placed locations around the world which allows us to dispatch anywhere for immediate response to customers needs, with a trained team of engineers on hand to travel to locations worldwide.

The machines are set up to work in conjunction with the local electrical supply for the individual countries in which the machines are to be used.  The AMC Torque Control System has been specifically designed in-house by trained electronic engineers to work with the torque machine which has also been designed and built in-house by AMC. The system is robust enough to withstand extreme heats in desert locations, and extreme colds in the most remote parts of Alaska and Siberia. Boasting an IP65 rating, making it dust, and waterproof it provides piece of mind for workshop use.

Every machine that leaves our premises comes with a 12 months, full parts and labor warranty.

We offer our torque equipment on a rental basis to our customers.

Our High Torque unit can be offered with many added extras such as extension beams with additional lifting jacks to help support the tool without the use of additional slings, cranes or forklifts, a push/pull cylinder capable of 32 tonne push and 24 tonne pull, a spinner capable of 2000 ft lbs max torque and of course our in-house designed Torque Control System which collates all your data by means of a PDF.
